Success of Avalon Encino Project Highlights Versatility, Beauty of Precast Concrete Fencing
(Vocus) January 8, 2010 -- As you drive through Encino, California on Ventura Boulevard, look north toward the Avalon Encino luxury multi-use complex. Visible from the boulevard is a line of FenceStone® fencing in Mesa Buff, a prime example of the authentic stone-look precast concrete product lines available from Artisan Precast (www.artisanprecast.com).
Completed in August 2008, the Avalon Encino project partnered Los Angeles-based Artisan with Avalon Bay Construction to provide privacy to the homeowners of this upscale neighborhood along with a sound buffer to the busy complex driveway. The job called for 530 LF of 6’ FenceStone® -- Artisan’s product designed to provide the warm appearance of natural hand-laid ledge stone; and 335 LF of 6’ WoodCrete®, which simulates the look of crafted wood.
Combining the stone-look and wood-look products on a single job is one of Artisan Precast’s specialties. Their fencing (www.artisanprecast.com) can be customized around other architectural elements and across any type of terrain for a striking visual presentation unique to the client’s needs. Artisan’s products offer low maintenance, strength of 5,000 psi or greater, and suitability to areas threatened by ground movement, characteristics which won them the Avalon Encino project. On the job, installation crews faced multiple challenges presented by the small dividing space between homeowners. Artisan’s ability to overcome these challenges illustrates both product versatility and company professionalism.
These brands of steel-reinforced precast concrete walls (www.artisanprecast.com) and fences have been used in the field for 27 years. Artisan conducts their highly-engineered fabrication processes at NPCA-certified facilities to ensure high levels of quality and consistency. Early in 2008, the company began increasing their use of recycled cementitious materials in their mixes, bringing Artisan to the forefront of the eco-friendly market.
“We were extremely proud to be able to participate in this project,” says Craig Lewis, Artisan Precast’s CEO. ”We were able to provide a much more elegant solution for the owner versus a concrete block wall, while saving them money.” The success of the Avalon Encino project is evidence of this company’s status as a national leader in precast concrete (www.artisanprecast.com) manufacturing.
